Andrew Wiggins, one of the top rookie expected to be among the top three picks has spoken, they prefer the Philadelphia 76ers.
It is no secret that the Sixers need a big shot in the arm and Wiggins could be it. Wiggins along with Jabari Parker and Joel Embiid are forecasted to be the first players to be selected. Cleveland owns the first pick and if mock drafts are to be considered, Embiid would be their wise choice.
The second pick belongs to Milwaukee and it could be Wiggins or Parker for them.
So how can Wiggins end up with the Sixers when that scenario seems like a 50-50 scenario? Well throw in a possible trade that involves Thaddeus Young and the number one pick and you get two chances to land Wiggins.
This is a dream scenario for the 76ers. They would take Wiggins at No. 1 if they could, and having him fall to No. 3 would be a godsend. The Sixers actually have engaged the Cavs about moving to No. 1. They aren’t willing to give up both the Nos. 3 and 10 picks. But a combination of No. 3 and Thaddeus Young is a possibility. And it’s a great scenario for Wiggins, as well. Of the three top teams, his camp prefers the Sixers as the best possible fit.
The odds do seem better if you consider that scenario. Wiggins would be perfect for the Sixers or for any of the top three teams selecting first in the draft. And with Wiggins’ camp making it known their preference, would Milwaukee care or spoil the party?
