Chris Andersen was signed to fill a specific role in Miami. As the cornerstone for their interior defense, he was a vital cog in  extending Miami’s playoff run, all the way to the crown. On that stretch, the Birdman set records for the highest field goal percentage.

Birdman’s run was cut short, as Coach Erik Spelstra employed the ‘small ball’ offense against the Spurs. Nevertheless, Miami fans and haters alike will agree that the Heat may not have been champions without the Birdman’s contributions on both sides of the court.

A one year contract pact has been  reached with Miami, and the Heat have all their vital pieces back for an attempt at a three-peat run.
