Montrezl Harrell Dunks Pretty Much Everything

In case you haven’t heard of Montrezl Harrell here are a few things you need to know about him to know why he’s a big deal.  For starters, Harrell was the MVP of the Jordan Brand Classic regional game and then he was honored as MVP of 39th annual Capital Classic… the only two all-star games in which he participated. We would keep going but we don’t need to say much else. Did I mention he dunks everything?

The wiry-strong, linky-bodied Virginia Tech commit possesses athletic abilities that leave spectators in amazement. The recent firing of Virginia Tech head coach Seth Greenberg has caught the attention of other top-tier basketball programs that are expected to make a move toward Harrell. The National Scouting Director, Joe Davis of Scoutsfocus tweeted in mid-April that programs such as Kentucky, Louisville and PITT are looking at Harrell.

Joe Davis: @scoutsfocus

“Kentucky, NC State, PITT, Providence, L’ville, Xavier, Cincinnati & ‘Bama are schools expected to make a push for Montrezl”

“Montrezl Harrell, Virginia Tech’s top signee, will “probably” seek his release according to his Father”

There is always a high risk of losing players when there is a coaching change. Such as the University of Maryland’s Gary Williams retirement sparked 2012 freak-athlete top recruit Justin Anderson decommitting and taking his talent to the University of Virginia.  With Coach Greenberg fired, according to Tech Hoops a Virginia Tech basketball blog; the first potential person to “jump ship” is 2012 signee Marshall Wood, a forward hailing from Rustburg, VA. It is rumored that  Marshall will apparently ask for his release from his binding Letter of Intent, which universities usually grant when there’s a coaching change. If this happens, the Hokies may have to say farewell to the kid that dunks just about everything. In the video below you will find a recap of Montrezl’s performance at the Jordan Brand classic and Capital Classic all-star games.
