INTRODUCTION

The age-old suggestion to drink eight glasses a day was nothing more than a guideline, and may have been oversold. While we may not need eight glasses, there are plenty of reasons to drink water. In fact, drinking water (either plain or in the form of other fluids or foods) is essential to your health.

Most people are relatively dehydrated during the day. All cells in the body, from the brain to the muscle to the cartilage function better in a more hydrated state. For most of you readers, this means the more hydrated you are, the better you’ll perform. Increasing your water intake will help you accomplish several amazing health and performance benefits.

In this article, we won’t tell you how much to drink or prescribe a diet plan for you. We’ll just educate you on the benefits of consuming more H2O and we’ll allow your imagination to wander about all you could accomplish as a newly hydrated basketball player.
